Almost everybody has an opinion on the recent Supreme Court decision regarding same sex marriage. It is now illegal for any state to forbid homosexual marriage. Some people think that is a good thing. Some think it is bad.
But is there any standard to which we can appeal that will determine whether it is right or wrong? Of course there is! That’s what the Bible is all about. It is a standard from God that directs the actions of men. What God says is right. It is always right. It is never wrong.
Tonight I am speaking at the Pitser Garrison Convention Center in Lufkin, Texas. The Union Road Church of Christ in Lufkin has organized and sponsored this event.
My job tonight is to present straight talk from the Bible about homosexuality. The Bible gives answers so we can know what is right and what is wrong. Here is what I will do tonight–and I will do these things in a fair and honest way:
1. Examine the passages that address homosexuality.
2. Consider the objections made by those who would justify homosexual practices.
3. Show the fallacies inherent in the arguments made in favor of homosexuality.
It comes as a surprise to many folks to learn that there is a series of arguments made by homosexuals from the Bible. That’s right! The homosexual movement is actually using the Bible to justify their practices. But, are they using the Bible in the proper way, or are they twisting the Scripture?
The session tonight begins at 7:00 PM sharp. It is scheduled to last one hour. While we will not have a formal Q and A as part of tonight’s event, I will be available after the presentation to answer any questions that folks may have.
If you are anywhere in the Lufkin area, I hope you can come tonight and hear the truth–straight talk about homosexuality.
WHAT YOU CAN DO
While I recognize that most of the folks who receive this email cannot be present, you can still do something to help us.
Would you please pray? Would you please do that now? Ask the Lord to bless this event and that His name be glorified.
We believe in God. We believe in God’s word. We believe in praying to God. Let us use the avenue of prayer to make this event successful.
Blessings to you and yours,
–Max
FYI: If you do plan on coming tonight, the Convention Center is located at 601 N. 2nd Street in Lufkin.
