JOSHUA’S PLEDGE

My daughter Jennifer sent me a link to a YouTube video a few days ago. It is something that EVERY DAD WHO HAS A YOUNG SON MUST SEE. Please excuse the shouting, but you really must see this! Here is the link. (If the link doesn’t work, go to youtube.com and search for the title above.)

The scene is a father driving his young son to school. Dad is teaching Joshua this pledge. Little Josh is cute as he says his parts of the pledge. But pay attention to the dad. Every dad should be like this dad. Here is the transcript of the pledge.

Today is going to be a good day. I thank God for waking me up today. I am going to school so I can learn, go to college, and be the leader that God has created me to be. Today I will be educated by my teachers, empowered by my teachers with the tools to be successful within my community and throughout the country. I apply myself daily. I study. And I ask questions when I don’t understand. When I am confronted with a problem or a conflict, I think before I react. I ignore all negative influences in the classroom and throughout my school day. When I’m confronted with a problem or a conflict, I think before I react. I ignore all negative influences in the classroom and throughout my school day. I am extremely proud to be the next generation of Christian leaders. I accept responsibility and I love the challenge.

Toward the end, part of it gets repeated, but that’s OK. It’s all good.
Politicians are promising to “make America great again.” Politicians can’t do it. But dads like this man can! Please go to the link above and watch it. Then share this post so that others may see.

THE FINAL WORD

Here are some of the comments made by viewers on YouTube. See if you agree.

From 1911:
Thank God for good responsible fathers who raise their children to be a part of society, instead of the entitlement, victim mentality and death sentence others choose to follow or direct their children to. Thank God and Thank You Dad. I had all but lost hope for the next generation.
From Trae:
My brother, very good job! Best example of how a father should teach his son…Don’t stop fighting to give the best possible tools to be the best he can be in this world no matter the obstacles … And from the looks of it he is off to a great start.
From Katie:
I’m an elementary teacher. If all children had this kind of parental support, I can only imagine the bright futures my students would have.
From Loren:
You are a great Dad. What an excellent role model. Great kid. Great job.
A final word from Max: On the video watch for the line at the end when Joshua says, “You didn’t let me finish.” Peace!

Blessings to you and yours,
–Max
